It is easy to criticize. In fact, I've learned that everything can be twisted in such a way as to be completely and utterly wrong. As such, no spiritual teaching or religion says the Truth.
If you really think about it, even the word Namaste doesn't make any sense. Here is a commonly used interpretation of it:
"I honour the place in you in which the whole Universe resides. I honour the light, love, truth, beauty and peace within you, because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one."
Just taking the second part of the first sentence - 'the place in you in which the whole Universe resides' - it can clearly be argued that it has been written from an ego perspective. Indeed, what is there apart from the whole Universe? Isn't the whole Universe everything there is? How can it therefore be a place within you? Where are these other places in 'you' if not in the Universe?
Many people play these 'true meaning' / I'm right, you're wrong games.
But no words can ever really Be the Truth that they point to, because It cannot be expressed in words. And if you would but be open to experiencing the real meaning of the words instead of the symbol, anything you see or hear will be your Awakening. It is not in the words, but in how open you are.
It was never about the words, nor about the symbols, but it's easy to get caught up in those. We are taught to see money as an end in themselves instead of the value (or potential) that they have; we are taught to see each other as bodies instead of the Oneness in which we bathe.
Open your mind, and whatever you see or hear will represent Truth.
